Suggested Documents For The Divorce Process

You should begin to assemble the following documents for the divorce process:

Income:

  • 6 months of bank statements
  • Last year’s W-2, federal tax statement
  • Year-to-date check stub(s)
  • Tax returns for last 3 years

Living Expenses:

  • Proof of mortgage, rent
  • Food (approximate cost)
  • Proof of automobile note
  • Proof of automobile insurance
  • Clothing (approximate cost)
  • Transportation costs
    • car insurance cost
    • fuel cost
  • Medical bills (not including cost of health insurance)
  • Dental bills (not including cost of insurance)
  • Proof of cost of prescriptions
  • Household expenses (approximate cost of cleansers, maintenance, etc.)
  • Laundry (approximate cost)
  • Personal grooming (approximate cost)
  • Proof of cost of electricity
  • Proof of cost of water
  • Proof of cost of cable
  • Proof of cost of telephone, cell phone

Other Expenses:

  • 6 months of credit card statements
  • Proof of any bank loans
  • Proof of any other debts to be paid (Sears, Bass Pro, Dillards, etc.)
  • Proof of any educational debts
  • Proof of any other insurances or notes not listed above

Miscellaneous:

  • A list of Items you would like from the home
